Who is responsible

What we collect
Your email address, the name you choose to show, the things you post with their photos and rough location, the messages you send other people, and basic information about how the app is used.
Why we do it
To run the service you asked for: sign you in, show you things nearby and let you write to whoever wants them. Some of it we keep to hold Gebo together safely, and some because the law requires it – accounting for Plus payments, for instance.
What other people see
Your first name, your profile photo if you added one, when you joined and the things you post are visible to other users. Your exact address never is – distance is shown roughly until you tell someone where you live in the chat. Your email address is always private.
Blocking and reports
You can block the person you're chatting with. The chat goes away and you no longer see each other's things. The person you block isn't told. If you report someone, we get a copy of the chat along with what you write, so we can see what happened. If you report a listing, we get a copy of it and the giver is blocked. The person you report won't know it was you. We keep reports for as long as we need them to keep Gebo safe.
Who else handles it
Supabase runs the database for us, inside the EU. If you sign in with Google, they give us your email address, your name and your profile photo. We never sell your data.
How long we keep it
As long as you have an account. A chat is deleted when it closes: when the item is removed, when the person you're talking to is no longer first in line, or when either of you blocks the other. Delete your account and we remove your listings and messages, apart from reports we need to keep Gebo safe and what the law says we must keep.
Your rights
You can see what we hold about you, correct what's wrong, take it elsewhere and ask us to delete all of it. Write to hej@geboapp.se and you'll hear back. If you think we're handling it badly, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
